Bentley Continental GT

The Continental GT became an instant classic when it was introduced in 2003, marking the return of true high-performance grand touring coupes to the legendary Bentley brand. With its low-slung profile and modern, streamlined shape, from every angle the bodywork of the Continental GT suggests it was made for speed.

Under the hood lives the heart of a racer, delivering the performance that backs up the looks: twelve cylinders, six liters, two turbos. Arranged in a unique “W” configuration, the unconventional W12 is extremely compact as well as exceptionally powerful, making 552 horsepower and a ground-shredding 479 lb-ft of torque.

Getting that much force to connect to the road might be a challenge if not for the standard all-wheel drive. With an assist from sticky 19-inch high-performance tires, the Continental GT possesses an incredible amount of traction, allowing the luxurious coupe to catapult from 0 to 60 mph in just over four and a half seconds on its way to a top speed of just under 200 mph. Massive brakes help erase that speed when it’s time to play nice, and the Continental GT’s handling inspires confidence no matter how fast you’re going.

Going fast, however, isn’t the Continental GT’s only talent. It’s a proper British luxury car, after all, designed to pamper its passengers as well. The interior is a cocoon of fine leather hides and hand-polished wood, all created by traditional craftsmen in Bentley’s in-house trim shop. The devil is in the details, like the mirror-matched wood veneers, the leather trimmed-carpet edges and the polished chrome bulls-eye vents with organ stop actuators.

As you would expect of a Bentley, nearly every want has been attended to, with a full array of standard equipment. Our Continental GT includes a premium entertainment system with a dozen speakers, satellite radio, CD player and iPod integration, plus satellite navigation, and front seats that are both heated and cooled.
